Geographic Routing

Geographic (or position-based) routing has shown superior performance in networks with very high dynamics like VANETs.

Our implementation of geographic routing for JiST/SWANS comprises the following features:

  • Geounicast, Geo(broad)cast and Geoanycast addressing
  • Greedy line forwarding
  • Flooding as aread forwarding
  • Caching as strategy against dead ends (like done in CGGC)
  • Geo-addressing capable application

Moreover, the implementation is validated against the same protocol in ns-2, with pretty much similar results.

The downloadable package also contains the latest version (1.2.1) of STRAW, a project by David Choffnes at Northwestern University.
